Problem
Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), a prestigious national leadership honor society, needed a modern, unified website to support event promotion, empower chapter autonomy, and reflect its leadership-driven mission. Their existing site was disjointed, outdated, and difficult for staff and chapters to manage.
Action
Contracted by Kismet Communications, I led the design and development in collaboration with their content and strategy lead:
- Conducted stakeholder discovery with ODK staff and chapter leaders to uncover needs and pain points
- Designed a flexible system of reusable templates for events, chapter pages, and content updates
- Developed the site on WordPress to support scalability, accessibility, and ease of use
- Created training resources and conducted onboarding to ensure smooth handoff and adoption
Results
- Delivered a cohesive digital experience that strengthened ODK’s national identity and communication efforts
- Launched in time to support ODK’s national event campaign
- Improved usability led to higher participation and engagement across local chapters
- Provided chapter leaders with flexible, branded digital tools to share updates and connect with members
