🦄 Résumé

Hi!

I’m Kim! I’m a digital product designer with over 20 years of experience. I started out in fine arts from painting and photography to furniture design and glass blowing. At age 23 I felt stuck, so I went back to school for my design degree and suddenly everything clicked. I spent the first half of my career designing responsive websites and the second half focused on native applications. Long story short, I love what I do and I have fun doing it.

I reside just outside of Richmond, in Louisa, Virginia, on 6+ acres with my husband, three boys, two cats and a sizable telescope. Our home includes a designated room for our extensive Lego collection… (and where a Lego Master has slept).

Here’s a general overview of how I dive into understanding and solving problems. My primary focus is to discover what I don’t know that I need to know.

With a bias for action I employ D.Schools methodology of Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test. However in some instances, when working with clients unfamiliar with design processes, I will use Ogilvy’s Question, Care, Connect, Commit method.

Always leading by example with humility, positivity and a lot of humor.
